How to make a Passionfruit Daiquiri with Cachaça

Ingredients

2 oz. / 60 ml Cachaça (I used Novo Fogo - or you can use rum)

.75 oz. / 22 ml Chinola Passionfruit Liqueur

.75 oz. / 22 ml Lime juice

.75 oz. / 22 ml Simple Syrup

Technique

Shake all ingredients with ice until diluted and chilled and strain into a coupe. Garnish with a lime wheel.



I love daiquiris because you can experiment with different types of rum, much like you’d experiment with different whiskeys in an old fashioned. I’m actually not even going to use rum today, I’ll use cachaça.

Cachaça isn’t quite the same thing as rum because it’s made from fresh sugarcane juice instead of molasses. However, some people do refer to it as Brazilian rum, and it works well in a lot of rum cocktails.
